I should file a complaint.

Cyril says I should stop reading trash from my Yahoo! homepage. They're sponsored by the milk industry, Fox News and apparently people with bad fashion taste.

Just saw this and had to share.

"We've heard of mom jeans before, but mom shorts? Jessica Stroup of 90210 2.0 fame showed off these sweet, high-waisted short shorts (with pockets) the other day in LA. We predict these bad boys will be all the rage for Spring 2009. Pair them with some penny loafers and a dickie under a knitted sweater your grandma gave you when you were 8, and you will be the talk of the town. Guaranteed or your money back. (Jean Baptiste Lacroix/ Wire Image)"

That is clearly the Pocket Skirt from AA, n'est ce pas?

Now really, Yahoo! Canada Lifestyle, she looks gooood! But I must say, you had me going for a while there, saying they were going to to all the rage. You cheeky little thing. Well here's a head's up: they're already all the rage! Ha.
One ore time: She looks gooood.

Give me some on-screen space!

Goofing around before the show.

Lipstick kiss.

Just for reference, this was me last February in Switzerland (please note the length of hair):

!!! My hair is getting so long! I had a dream last night that Cyril cut it. It was awful.
Shirt: centuries old Gap, belt & skirt: thrifted, tights: WalMart, boots: Ebay, necklace: gift from Cyril's mum.
(Excuse the recycling pile)

Herman Dune!

PS - this was the bongo man doing a sexy booty shake dance.

Very fun.

Thursday 26 March 2009

Ah non, monsieur; dites pas la vérité.

I thought I should spice up my outfit pictures a bit. With jumps.
My keyboard is set to French, so that actually took me a while to type. As did that. And that.

Shirt: AA, pants: H&M, shoes: thrifted, gold chain: gift from my mum, beaded necklace: MADE BY CAROLINE.

Shirt: family reunion 1987 (represent!), cardi: H&M, jeans: Tati, belt: thrifted, necklace: gift from Myriame.

I think we're due for a What He Wore Today post.
And I am due for plus de travail sur mon dissertation sur La Leçon. Que ça soit fini!

Whilst I attempt to sound somewhat intelligent in French, go find some yummies at Mean Missus Mustard!

Saturday 21 March 2009

I wish that I could see you soon.

What I Wore Yesterday

I stopped by the little thrift store on our street on the way home from school. As I was trying my new dress and skirt on, I realised that the cardigan, skirt and belt I was wearing are all from that little thrift store.

Cardi, belt & skirt: thrifted, sweater: H&M from Cyril's closet, necklaces: gift & thrifted, tights: H&M, boots: Ebay.

Herman Düne
tonight! I hope the show will be like this video. And I hope he will wear a fuzzy, pink bear hat!

I can't believe it cleans with pure water!

Right now I am:
- watching an infomercial about the H2O Mop on mute because 1 I can't write and listen 2 I get easily distracted by commercials.
- waiting for Cyril to get home because I can't sleep alone, anywhere. I thought there was a snake in here earlier on. It's Vancouver in March; there are no snakes.
- taking way too long to write this because the infomercial is still on... ooh, mop...

This is the anti-fashion.

It is a very good read. Volkswagon Blues by Jacques Poulin. Il est canadien.

H2O Mop man just moped through a maze with his mop. Guys, wow.

Back at you like a flash from the future.

It's been a while, eh, kids?

I've been going through this for literally hours. It's so cute it makes my heart literally ache. Literally. I want her life.

Otherwise.
Yesterday (Sunday) was totally crazy weather. I talked to my mum in the morning and it started to snow like woah. Come. ON! So I popped on some candles and our string of lights to make it all cozy in our little abode.

Voila.

It snowed pretty good, I must say. Then it was sunny! And the snow vanished in mere nano seconds. Exaggeration, but still.

Now get ready, it's been a while since I've done a "What I Wore Today" post. But I aint' teasin'. This is the real deal.

New lipstick! Rimmel Red Dive on sale for $4! Though I still would quite like a nice Ruby Woo...

Blazer: stolen from sister's closet, scarf and cardis: H&M, top and belt: thrifted, jeans: Mango, boots: Ebay.

Painting the paint of the paint.

I was tagged by the lovely Amy over at Ma Petite Amy to do this: post the fourth picture in the fourth folder on my computer and write about it.
Well, folks, here's the thing: these rules are a bit loose, don't you think? I suppose if I was going to be true to this thing and take the instructions at face-value, I would give you this:

Which is a picture of the first Apple Pie I ever baked with my own two hands. Whiiich can coincidentally be found at my other, other blog: Mean Missus Mustard. Check it out, peeps.

However, I think this is boring. I already posted this picture! You could have found it yourself by visiting Missus Mustard.
So, I'm going to take "computer" to mean "computer and/or external hard drive thingy". And in that case, this is what you get:

This was taken in Fall 2007 in Switzerland by the Dad of the kids I nannied. He is a photographer and did family portraits that year for their friends and asked me if I wanted some too. Professional portraits for free? Yes, please!
Cyril and I are both doing uncomfortable/crazy poses in this one, but Sebastian straightened us out later on.
I still haven't showed these to my mother and grandmother... they would probably like them!

See, now wasn't that more fun?

Friday 13 March 2009

I can't even look you in the face anymore.

Lust.

here

Mac Ruby Woo. MMM!
That and a nice coral shade for Spring that I can't find a proper picture of.

? Ish. Well, yes, I suppose that's it.

And since Cyril put me onto the idea of navy blue polish
and since the faithful Vancouver rain is doesn't seem to be letting up anytime this side of never, navy blue polish it is.
Though I think it'll take more than a bottle of dark polish to get me through what
Environment Canada tells me is going to be an eternity of rain with no hope of Spring. Ever.
The Weather Network is usually more optimistic, so I tend to lean towards that,
but even its forecast isn't looking too hot. Har har.

En fin, bonne nuit.

Caught in a dream world once again.

Learning To Love You More, a project by Miranda July & Harrell Fletcher. July's film, Me You And Everyone We Know and her book No One Belongs Here More Than You: Stories (merci Jacques) are both fantastic. Now this. Man. I need to get my hands on more things lovely from that curly haired miss.

It is superbly cute. I can't wait to look at the other tasks! But I just had to share.

55. Photograph a significant outfit.

"What I was wearing when I realized it was more selfish
NOT to tell you "I love you" than TO tell you."

"What I was wearing on Sunday, the seventh day of December
of the year two-thousand-and-eight, when I awoke to find
my beloved dog breathing her last breath at the top of the stairs.
I saw Death, and Death saw me wearing silly argyle and nothing else."

"What I wore when she straddled me on a park bench,
told me I was a sloppy kisser and made out with me anyway."

From here here and here.

30. Take a picture of strangers holding hands.

From here here and here.

50. Take a flash photo under your bed.
