Ich kann sagen was ich will.

Vancouver is getting cold.
C and I bought a tiny heater just in time.

UO top, AA jeans, shoes from Caroline, necklaces are thrifted and from my Granny & her ring.
And I made that teacup! I miss doing pottery.

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?! I'm dying to know.
This year C and I are going to (at least) two parties to catch up on the
zero-attendance-at-parties last year.

Fuzz can be hard to deal with. I don't mean the police.

I do realise that Thanksgiving was two weeks ago.
Call me tardy. Call me lazy. Call me BUSY WITH MIDTERMS THANK YOU.

Anyway, two weeks ago, I visited my family for Thanksgiving.

It had froze the night before I arrived, and to save the pipes from bursting, the orchardists had to leave their irrigation on, resulting in: magic.

In true English style, fried garden tomatoes for breakfast.
And my brother's pumpkin pie; lovingly made from scratch. (We didn't have it for breakfast. At least I didn't)

I miss them. Only two months to Christmas, I suppose.

(My hair is in pin-curls, tucked under my Granny's scarf, waiting to be slept on. I'm really excited to see how they will turn out! Show-and-tell, not to worry.)

Inside the warm, warm fire.

Procrastination creates beautiful things. Not-as-important-as-what-is-being-avoided things; possibly. But so worth it.

thrifted 50s cardigan (my new favorite), AA tights & dress, assorted necklaces, thrifted heels (which I did not wear all day; let's be clear on that)

I'm eating egg & bran porridge in preparation for my 5hr stint at the library. Does "egg & bran porridge" or "5hr stint at the library" sound more disgusting? Library. Yeah.

Actually the egg porridge is delicious. Weirdly interested? Find it here. (I added my own bran 'cause I'm just such a hippie. What.)

Sleep on a sea of predicament

I'm currently being whipped, big time, by school.

I've hardly noticed October waltz by, my favorite month of the year, and I'm afraid that with fast-approaching November will come: Winter. And then we will have rain and snow and sludge and cold and gloom until April.

I'm freaking.
There's nothing I can do about it; school has a steady Erin-whipping schedule until AU MOINS October 30. And I'm not even whipping school back.

Sometimes I feel like I'm in over my head. 3 Lit courses at once was a bad, bad, bad, BAAAD idea.

Reisen macht munter

Cyril and I went for a picnic a few weeks ago when it was warm enough out to go for a picnic.
Living a five-minute walk from the beach is living in glory. Glory.

Caprese salad with broccoli.

I am currently digesting on my parents' couch.
My mum puttering in the kitchen. My little brother listening to System of a Down in the dining room. Ah, family <3

Facts are facts, Frank.

Yes, that umbrella is a 100+ year old artifact. No, I should not be nonchalantly swinging it over my shoulder. Yes, I should be wearing conservator's gloves.

Thrifted sweater, heels & necklaces, UP jeans.

Assuming this whole potential job turns out as badly as I know it will, I am once again in search of employment. The day after my interview and a week before my "trial shift" I was back in the streets droppin' resumes to the familiar tune of we're not hiring right now.

On the up-side of life, our little apartment is nearing decoration completion!
I've got three words for it, and they're all the same: cute.

Jogging along the ocean? I think I might. Because I CAN.

She carried me home through wind and snow.

Fall

(Via Stylesightings)

Summer

Fall: basically, I want to copy this from head to toe.
Missing? Slouchy sweater thin enough to fit under my blazer, carrot pants, sweet-ass granny boots.

Summer: the epitome of today. Warm & happy, spent at the beach with my beau. The way life should me.

H&M top, Target skirt, thrifted belt & heels, gifted earrings & watch.

PS I have an interview at Mintage on Tuesday! Wish me luck.

Bug. On. The. Wall.

We've got a situation here, people: backlog.
This can be good or bad, depending. Now let's roll.

Thrifted skirt, belt & heels, Mango top.

Also, it was my first day of school today. First day, back.
Please don't make me regret choosing German as my major, Faust. Please.

What am I what am I what am I wishing for?

You know when you squint your eyes 'til they're almost shut (or in my case, simply remove glasses/contact lenses) and lights become those magical glowing orbs?
Our bathroom window is like that. Only the orbs are bigger. If you ever come over I'll show you.

C & I posing in our new apartment. It has a fireplace. I know.

on him: AA tee, H&M jeans
on her: H&M cardi, AA shirt, Granny's old (altered) skirt, thrifted belt & sneaks

Mummy, I wanna kitty for my burfday, please.

Hello, Vancouver. Nice to see you again; I've really missed you.

Wanna know what else I've been missing? A table. You don't realise how much a table means to a home until you are made to eat every meal on the floor, computer on your lap with no mouse and the mere possibility of sewing is next to nil. Not to mention: having a cup of tea on a rainy Vancouver's day whilst browsing blogs? Ain't gonna happen when you got no table!

We had a gorgeous vintage farm-style table set up to buy on Craigslist, in North Delta mind you, but our lack of truck and anybody we know's lack of truck was putting a damper on that. And like I've said, table = love, so we bought one asap. It is currently waiting for a lovingly-applied coat or two of white paint.

Cyril and I met the sweetest cat on our way from a garage sale the other day.

To make this post not entirely devoted to the Stranger Cat and my table fetish, an installment of What He Wore Today:

AA trousers, thrifted shoes, shirt & bag.

I feel like Siri would especially appreciate this collaboration of cats + clothes, no?
Now go, check out my for real fav blog.

Sunday, 23 August 2009

He gave me some ol' fashioned text book lovin'.

Double the pleasure, double the fun!
I am doubling your What I Wore Today eye-candy quota for the day because I am such a horrid blogger.

But guys, I'm packing! Packing. For Vancouver. In three days. Three. Days.

All thrifted.

Old navy top, Grandpa's old belt, thrifted and altered shorts, H&M shades, mystery-origin sandals and my necklace made by Caroline!

And now I sleep.
Last 2 days of work... !!

Saturday, 8 August 2009

Nacho cheese with my nachos please.

FIRST OF ALL:
I am of the strong opinion that if more men wore shorts like this gentleman here - specifically the length people - the world would be a better(sexier) place to live in. Hear hear!

Via Face Hunter

Ricki's altered blazer, thrifted shirt, Tati jeans, UO purse, thrifted shoes.

I wore this a few weeks ago when it was dreary. Is it terrible that I'm excited for fall so I can wear outfits like this on a daily basis rather than the three days in four months that I get to wear them now? Yes, it really is. Work needs to cease so uniforms and office-appropriate clothing may also cease. Office-appropriate clothing, PAH. GIVE ME MINI SKIRTS! Plz & thx.
